Former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy received official notices from police at the S.V. University Campus Police Station in Tirupati on Thursday. The notices were issued under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
This action stems from a complaint filed by TTD Trust Board member G. Bhanuprakash Reddy, which led to a case being registered against Mr. Reddy under Sections 353 (circulating statements to cause public mischief) and 299 (maliciously outraging religious feelings) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
During a subsequent press conference held at the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) district office, Mr. Karunakar Reddy claimed that the coalition government was engaging in "revenge" by filing "fake cases." He attributed these actions to his revelations concerning the deaths of over 100 cows at the TTD Goshala. Additionally, he made several allegations against the current TTD Chairman, B.R. Naidu, including questioning the process for releasing funds for under-construction projects and asserting his close ties with a significant number of TTD employees.
