A video featuring Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav shaking hands and posing for a photograph with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman and Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has been shared by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi President Saurabh Bharadwaj.
Bharadwaj’s post, which included a comment suggesting the interaction occurred at the beginning of the series, 15 days prior, was a response to a post by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Information and Technology (IT) cell national convener Amit Malviya. Bharadwaj had previously claimed that Indian players privately interacted and posed with Pakistani officials.
Malviya had provided an explanation for India’s decision not to accept the Asia Cup trophy and medals from Naqvi, stating it was due to Naqvi’s insistence on presenting them in his capacity as Asian Cricket Council chairman, PCB head, and Pakistan’s Interior Minister. Separately, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Aghan had also earlier claimed a private handshake between Suryakumar Yadav and Naqvi during the tournament.
