US President Donald Trump announced his intention to publicize the results of an MRI scan conducted in October. The announcement was made on Monday following his return to Washington from Florida, during an exchange with reporters.
Despite the president’s pledge, the White House has declined to provide specific details regarding the reason for the MRI or the part of his body that was scanned. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt previously stated that Mr. Trump underwent “advanced imaging” as part of a routine physical examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, with results indicating his “exceptional physical health.”
Mr. Trump himself stated he had “no idea” which part of his body was scanned, describing it as “just an MRI.” The White House has consistently promoted an image of the president's vigor, including through AI-generated imagery. However, AFP has reported observations suggesting a potential slowdown in the Republican leader, noting an instance where he was seen briefly dozing during a televised Oval Office event earlier this month.
