Andhra Pradesh Congress president YS Sharmila has changed the venue for her daughter’s wedding after her brother, Jagan Mohan Reddy, refused to allow his Bengaluru property to be used for the ceremony.

Sharmila stated on social media that the Yelahanka property was allotted to her and her children as part of a family asset division after Jagan Mohan Reddy became chief minister. She asserted that the property was rightfully hers and her children’s, and that her father, YSR, had also lived there.

She expressed sadness that her daughter’s wish to marry in the house where she grew up could not be fulfilled. Sharmila explained that the wedding ceremony would now take place at a different venue to ensure the event remains free of controversy and disputes.

Jagan Mohan Reddy had cited security reasons for his refusal, noting that a wedding would bring many guests and service providers to the residential property. He stated his priority was the safety of his family.
