The State Cabinet has approved significant funding for various infrastructure and public service projects across Bengaluru and neighboring districts. A key allocation includes ₹56.45 crore for the installation of adaptive traffic signals at 110 busy junctions in Bengaluru city, with the objective of easing traffic movement.
In the healthcare sector, the Institute of Gastroenterology Sciences and Organ Transplant (IGOT) in Bengaluru will receive ₹20 crore for the procurement of robotic and other essential equipment. For water and sewage management, ₹23.36 crore has been approved for the operation and maintenance of a 90-million-litre sewage treatment plant at Bellandur, and ₹15 crore for a utility wastewater treatment plant at Horamavu, both managed by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) for a five-year period. Furthermore, a sum of ₹300 crore has been allocated for a World Bank-aided project focused on treating sewage to fill tanks in Bengaluru Rural, Urban, and Chickballapur districts.
