The Northern Railways has announced an additional experimental stoppage for the Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express at Reasi station, commencing October 29. This decision introduces a second intermediate stop for the semi-high-speed train, which currently only halts at Banihal between Katra and Srinagar.

Officials stated that the trial stoppage, set for two minutes in both directions, addresses requests for enhanced convenience for regional passengers. The commercial department is mandated to monitor ticket sales at the station over a five-month period and submit a report for review. Official orders specify that this stoppage will not be withdrawn unless advised by the relevant office.

The Vande Bharat Express service, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 6, establishes a rail connection between the Kashmir Valley and the Jammu region. This marks the first additional stop implemented since the train's launch, reflecting a responsive approach to local demands and an evolution in the region's transportation system.
