The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) recently apprehended two officers from the Wadala TT police station: Senior Inspector Chandrakant Sarode (52) and Police Sub Inspector Rahul Waghmode (37). The arrests followed allegations that the officers demanded and accepted bribes. According to the complaint, on September 9, Sarode allegedly demanded Rs 5 lakhs and Waghmode Rs 50,000. These demands were reportedly made to avoid naming the complainant’s daughter in an existing First Information Report (FIR) and to take action against a rival group. The initial FIR was registered against the complainant on September 7, after an altercation occurred with the rival group over a community hall.
