The Andhra Pradesh government has approved and released ₹400 crore for the reimbursement of expenses related to the Stree Shakti free travel scheme. This allocation, formalized through Government Order No. 593, covers the period from August 15 to October, addressing costs incurred by the AP Public Transport Department (APPTD-APSRTC).
Leaders from both the APPTD Employees’ Unions and the APPTD National Mazdoor Union expressed satisfaction regarding the fund release. Concurrently, union representatives appealed to the government for consistent and timely future payments to ensure the scheme's successful operation. They also requested the acquisition of 3,000 additional buses and the recruitment of 10,000 new employees across various categories to fill existing vacancies, emphasizing these steps as vital for sustained scheme effectiveness and to enhance public perception of the government.
