Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed the 33rd Graduation Day ceremony of the Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM) at the Music Academy in Chennai. During his address, Chief Minister Stalin highlighted BIM's legacy, emphasizing its commitment to knowledge, humanity, innovation, and social cause. He also drew attention to Tamil Nadu's performance in higher education, referencing enrollment ratios and NIRF rankings, and credited the Dravidian movement for expanding educational access to oppressed communities. The Chief Minister further acknowledged former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi’s contributions to the state's knowledge economy. He outlined the current government's ongoing initiatives to boost education, including the Chief Minister’s breakfast scheme, financial stipends under Tamil Pudhalvan and Puthumai Penn schemes, the Naan Muthalvan scheme, the Chief Minister’s Research Grant, and model schools. At the event, Mr. Stalin presented medals and degrees to 161 of the 197 graduating students. Ravi Appasamy, Chairman of BIM's Board of Governors, highlighted the institution's partnership in the Chief Minister’s Fellowship programme and requested government support for elevating BIM to a research center and expanding its operational capacity. Higher Education Secretary Shankar, B. Bala Baskar (Member, Board of Governors, BIM), and S. Jaya Krishna (Controller of Examinations, BIM) were also present.
