An encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Gadchiroli district, Maharashtra, resulted in the deaths of two women Naxalites on Wednesday. The operation involved personnel from the Police, the C-60 unit, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Following the cessation of gunfire, authorities recovered the two bodies, along with weapons and Naxal literature from the site. This incident follows a similar engagement last week in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, which also resulted in two Naxalite fatalities. The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has previously stated its objective of achieving a “Naxal-free” India through a dual approach of security interventions and developmental programs.
