The State government has ordered improvements to sanitation, security, and basic infrastructure across SC and ST Gurukul institutions, hostels, and Ashram schools. The directive also emphasizes the timely delivery of uniforms, footwear, and textbooks to students.
During a review meeting, the Welfare Minister instructed officials to pinpoint and address any issues in procurement and distribution processes. He stressed the importance of coordinating with District Collectors and assigning specific officers with clear deadlines for distribution tasks.
The review also included an assessment of sanitation staff adequacy at large residential campuses, with proposals to be developed for increasing their pay. Infrastructure upgrades will encompass classrooms, kitchens, drinking water facilities, RO plants, washing areas, sanitation, and essential equipment.
Security measures at girls’ Gurukul institutions are set to be bolstered with more personnel and CCTV surveillance, with camera feeds potentially linked to local police stations. For academics, a uniform strategy will be implemented, including online access to subject experts for students in remote locations. A specific academic plan for Intermediate students will also be created, featuring study materials, digital resources, and coaching for competitive exams and higher education.
