A rally named ‘Karnataka Dhamma Jana Jagruthi Yatra’ is scheduled to take place in Yadgir on Monday, October 5. This event is being organized as a precursor to a larger Buddhist ceremony planned for November 1 at Sannati in the Kalaburagi district.
The rally will commence at 7 p.m. from Mailapur Base and proceed through several locations before concluding at Ambedkar Nagar. Following the rally, a public meeting will be held at Ambedkar Chowk. The purpose of this meeting is to increase awareness about Buddhism and to discuss the reasons and importance behind Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s conversion to the faith.
Organizers stated that the statewide awareness rally aims to fulfill the vision of a ‘Prabuddha Bharat’ (Enlightened India), which was presented by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar after his conversion to Buddhism in 1956. Approximately five lakh devotees are anticipated to attend the main Dhamma Deeksha event at Sannati.
Community leaders have called for broad participation from Ambedkarites, Buddhists, social and political leaders, and various organizations to ensure the success of the rally.
