Hyderabad Cyber Police Register Cases Over Minor Content Violations

Hyderabad's Cyber Crime Police have registered a case against two YouTube channels for creating and posting content featuring minors, which officials characterized as indecent and violative of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The authorities classified this content as child exploitation. City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar issued a warning to content creators, stating that social media freedom does not permit the creation or sharing of objectionable material, particularly involving minors, and emphasized that such actions constitute a serious offense under both the POCSO Act and the Juvenile Justice Act. Commissioner Sajjanar advised digital creators to focus on producing responsible content and urged parents to monitor their children's online consumption to ensure a safe digital environment. Citizens have been encouraged to report any similar indecent content through the National Cyber Crime Portal or by calling helpline 1930. Following the Commissioner’s statements, several YouTube and Instagram channels reportedly deleted the objectionable videos.
