A man has been arrested by Metropolitan Police following the circulation of a video allegedly showing threats made against Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer. The footage reportedly depicted a man making statements about Sir Keir during a “unite the kingdom” protest held in central London on Saturday, September 13th.
Authorities confirmed that a 56-year-old man was apprehended on Sunday, September 14th, on suspicion of malicious communications. During the wider protest, 26 police officers sustained injuries, and 24 individuals were arrested for a range of alleged offenses, including common assault and violent disorder. Police noted that the scale of the demonstration exceeded their initial estimates, leading to tense and violent interactions.
