On Thursday, an incident at the Heaton Park Congregation synagogue in Manchester, England, resulted in two fatalities. British police identified the victims on Friday as Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66. The assailant, Jihad al-Shamie, 35, a British citizen of Syrian descent, reportedly used a vehicle to strike individuals outside the synagogue before engaging in a stabbing spree. Three additional people sustained injuries and remain hospitalized. Counterterrorism police fatally shot al-Shamie within minutes of the attack. British authorities classified the event, which occurred on Yom Kippur, as an act of terrorism.
