On Saturday, October 4, 2025, a delegation including former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and three Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators traveled from Imphal to New Delhi.
Mr. Singh stated to reporters that the visit’s objectives included apprising central leaders of the state’s prevailing law and order situation, discussing the formation of a government, addressing issues concerning internally displaced persons (IDPs), and highway-related matters. BJP MLA Thongam Robindro confirmed that legislators were heading to meet central leadership.
Former ministers Sapam Ranjan and Heikham Dingo accompanied Mr. Singh. According to party sources, the delegation is slated to meet BJP Northeast in-charge Sambit Patra and intends to request an appointment with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Sources further indicated that additional MLAs, including Assembly Speaker T. Satyabrata Singh, are anticipated to travel to Delhi in the coming days.
