India's Supreme Court has dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by a cloth trader from Ludhiana. The decision followed the petitioner's inability to articulate or explain the sophisticated legal terminology contained within the document.
The bench, which included Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi, and Justice R Mahadevan, questioned the petitioner's understanding of the plea. Chief Justice Kant specifically challenged the petitioner's familiarity with the petition's content. Subsequently, the petitioner revealed that the document had been drafted with external assistance.
The PIL pertained to the PM Cares Fund.
