Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda announced on Friday that the electoral alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) is firm and will extend to all upcoming elections, including those for local bodies and the Assembly. Gowda emphasized the consistent nature of his relationship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and noted former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy's complete recovery and renewed active engagement in party activities following past electoral defeats. The JD(S) is planning a women's convention in Bengaluru on October 12, expecting 60,000 party workers, as part of its strategy to consolidate grassroots support. The party has set a target of winning 50 to 60 seats in the forthcoming Bengaluru civic body elections. Addressing questions on the proposed Bidadi Township project, Gowda acknowledged farmer opposition and stated that the public's verdict would ultimately be delivered through elections.
