A prominent leader, Kishan Reddy, on Tuesday (March 3, 2026), urged the Telangana Government to issue a comprehensive 'White Paper' detailing the State's financial position. This request was made in a letter to the Chief Minister, ahead of the impending 2026-27 budget session scheduled to commence on March 16.

Reddy stated that the Central government has disbursed nearly ₹12 lakh crore to Telangana over the past 12 years through various schemes and capital investments. He provided a breakdown of these allocations, which included approximately ₹2.5 lakh crore in tax devolution and ₹1.85 lakh crore for road projects. Further significant funding was cited for railway works (over ₹36,000 crore), the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) (nearly ₹40,000 crore), and the Public Distribution System (PDS) for rice (₹50,000 crore). Local bodies reportedly received over ₹40,000 crore, with additional substantial spending directed towards power, education, sports, and healthcare infrastructure.

Specific project allocations highlighted by Reddy included ₹200 crore for MMTS Phase-II, ₹114 crore for the Manoharabad–Kothapalli railway line, ₹315 crore for Smart Cities, and ₹674 crore for PMGSY. He also noted benefits for farmers, stating that over ₹14,000 crore was provided under PM-KISAN, ₹80,000 crore for fertiliser subsidy, nearly ₹2 lakh crore as Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy procurement, and ₹60,000 crore for cotton procurement. Additionally, Reddy mentioned that Central financial institutions extended loans amounting to ₹10 lakh crore to the state.
