Speeding Car Kills Three Riders Near Kochi Airport

Three individuals, including two women, died in the early hours of Sunday after a speeding car collided with their two-wheeler near Nedumbassery airport in Kochi. The accident occurred around 2 am as the victims were returning home.

According to police, locals transported the three riders to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The victims have been identified as Gopika, Devika, and Ijaz. The car involved in the collision was also significantly damaged.

The driver of the car, Suhail, has been taken into police custody. He has been booked for attempted culpable homicide. Police are investigating the possibility that the driver was under the influence of intoxicating substances, with blood and other samples collected for testing. Forensic examination of the car is also underway.

In response to the incident, police stated that patrols and other preventive measures will be enhanced in the area surrounding the airport to curb accidents caused by overspeeding.
